Friends of Historic Great Falls Tavern

From an email note dated 17 Oct 2020, from Pete Peterson, Supervisory Park Ranger:

Please join me in welcoming Tyson Kilbourn-Shear as the new Palisades District Volunteer & Partnership Coordinator. Tyson recently completed a 4 month detail in the position from April-August. He has worked at numerous national parks across the U.S. including the National Mall. I look forward to having Tyson back onboard providing his outstanding organizational and leadership skills in this important position. Tyson's start date is the week of Nov 9th.

Tyson's office will be in the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center and he'll be working Wed-Sun. Additional contact info will be made available once Tyson is onboard. In the meantime, please continue to work with Kara Bourland, our CVA intern and program assistant extraordinaire if you need anything or have questions. We've also begun a "phased" reactivation of the district bike patrol program. Over the next month or so you'll begin seeing more and more bike patrollers back on the towpath.

Unfortunately, our Tavern Visitor Center remains closed. NPS staff are continuing to operate a visitor contact table outside the front door as weather and staffing levels permit.
